Antibody to Dok2

Background Information : The binding protein Dok2 also known as p56dok-2, a 56 kD tyrosine phosphorylated protein, purified and cloned from p210bcr-abl expressing cells, is able to bind to p120RasGAP. There is 35% identity to Dok1. Dok2 is a rasGAP-associated docking protein expressed mostly in hematopoietic cells.  Dok2 is phosphorylated upon activation of many protein tyrosine kinases (PTKs), including those coupled with cytokine receptors and oncogenic PTKs like Bcr-Abl.  Loss of Dok1 and/or Dok2 in a knock out mice model carrying the bcr-abl gene resulted in progression of a myeloproliferative disease resembling human chronic myelogenous leukemia.  The mouse model suggests that both Dok1 and Dok2 suppress leukemia as negative regulators of cytokines responses as well as maintain myeloid homeostas asis.  Recent research suggestes that both Dok1 and Dok2 are gatekeepers for T cell tolerance.

Specificity: Binds to a ~56 kD protein and is likely to cross-react with mouse Dok2 RasGAP-binding protein. Binding can be blocked by the peptide immunogen.
