| Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are membrane proteins on many cells involved with innate immunity such as macrophages, dendritic cells, neutrophils, mucosal epithelial cells, and endothelial cells. Ten different mammalian TLRs have been identified and all have distinct specificities for microbial ligands. Upon recognition of a microbial product, TLRs initiate a signaling pathway to activate innate immunity. TLR2 recognizes specific molecules from bacteria, fungi, Leptospira, trypanosomes, mycobacteria, and mycobacteria. Historically, TLR2 has been known as Toll/interleukin 1 receptor-like protein 4 (TIL4) and CD282 antigen. Specificity: Peptide sequence is < 50 % identical to other human TLR receptors in this region. The antibody recognizes human TLR2 and was not tested for cross-reactivity to mouse TLR2. Formulation: Affinity purified IgG antibody in 10 mM KHPO4, 140 mM NaCl with 1 mg/ml BSA and 0.1 % sodium azide Quality Control: Immunohistochemistry on human spleen Storage: Freeze at -20° C. For long term storage freeze at -80° C. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
