A well designed peptide immunogen can produce an excellent and highly specific antibody
Antigenic peptide epitopes can be selected using software available at The Immune Epitope Database and Analysis Resource (IEDB). Lists of ranked peptide epitopes can subsequently searched with BLAST to check for homology to related proteins to insure that the desired antibody will have high specificity and low cross-reactivity.
The investigator can e-mail the amino acid sequence to info@capralogics.com. Capralogics will have the sequence synthesized and obtain enough peptide to conjugate for the immunogen for the custom polyclonal antibody package, perform ELISAs, and construct an affinity matrix column if desired. For most antibody production projects, a peptide of >85% purity is recommended.
For 20 mg of peptide, the per residue pricing is $49 for peptides between 15 to 29 amino acids in length at >85% purity and includes documentation of peptide sequence confirmation and HPLC analysis.
Peptide acetylation and amidation are offered at no cost. Biotinylation, phosphotyrosine, phosphothreonine, phosphoserine, and fluorscein sites can be added for an additional fee. Please inquire for prices on lesser or greater peptide amounts, higher purity, and varying residue lengths. 
Conjugation of 2 mg of peptide to carrier proteins KLH or BSA for use as an immunogen is $175. For each additional 2 mg increment of peptide there is a charge of $75. | Peptide Affinity Purification Lyophilized peptide in the range of 4 to 8 mg is preferred for column construction for the purification of 50 mL antisera. The yield of peptide specific antibody is based on quality of immune response and can range from 5 to 10 % of total immunoglobulin. Generally, a minimum of 10 mg of antibody can be obtained. Protein Affinity Purification About 5 to 20 mg of protein is needed to couple to the affinity matrix column for purification of 50 ml antisera. The protein should not contain Tris or glycine buffers. The yield of protein specific antibody is based on quality of immune response and can range from 5 to 10 % of total immunoglobulin. Generally, a minimum of 10 mg of antibody can be obtained. Protein A/G Purification Rabbit, goat, or sheep antiserum purification by Protein A/G Affinity Chromatography. Most serum yields between 10 to 20 IgG per ml.
